Professional Care and Support for the Elderly

We are registered with the Care Quality Commission for the care of 32 elderly residents. Re-enablement care is an important function of Restgarth. Whilst we provide the care required by our long term residents, we also encourage independence and frequently assist people to improve their mobility, so that they can eventually return to their own homes. Knowing that we are still nearby, and can offer assistance if needed, often promotes a feeling of confidence, which is critical in their re-enablement.

Accommodation

Restgarth Accommodation

The home is purpose built and therefore provides modern, well decorated accommodation over three floors. All of the floors are serviced by a modern and spacious lift.  It is equipped with the latest aids that can assist with bathing and generally getting around.

We have three separate communal sitting rooms that can provide for peace and quiet or just for watching TV and listening to music. It is an important part of a resident’s care that they can interact and mix with other residents, but also have somewhere quiet when needed.

Meals

Restgarth Meals

Most residents enjoy their meals in our comfortable dining room where we encourage social interaction. Alternatively, meals can be served in their own rooms, for example, many residents enjoy breakfast in bed before starting the day.

Staff

Restgarth has an experienced manager, Beth Hughes, who is supported with a deputy and a dedicated team of care assistants and catering staff.

We mainly recruit our staff from the local community. We run background checks and all staff are given a period of induction that requires both practical and theoretical experience. Most of our staff are NVQ trained and personal development is always encouraged.

Activities

We have a varied activities programme and receive frequent visits from local entertainers who attend for the benefit of residents, relatives and friends. We actively encourage residents to join in with the activities including sing-a-longs and ‘meet the animals!’.

Visitors are welcome to serve themselves to refreshments from our open kitchen facility, situated in the dining room.

Arrange a visit

With flexibility being integral to our ethos of care, we are pleased to invite those with an interest in long or short term care to contact us for a friendly, confidential chat or to arrange a visit. Visits are without obligation and free of charge.

You might prefer to find out more about us by joining us for a meal, a day, or a longer period of time including an overnight stay. We would be delighted to meet you and discuss your requirements.

Paying for Care

We are acutely aware of the financial considerations of placing a loved one in a care home. We recommend a not-for-profit company, Paying for Care, to discuss your options and the help available.
