Standing in approximately one acre of picturesque grounds, Shire House is a delightful combination of old and new, having an Edwardian building as its centre, together with a modern wing. The home provides spacious accommodation throughout.
Overlooking Lyme Bay and the Jurassic coast, Shire House provides nearly all large ensuite rooms, some with spectacular views. Eleven of our rooms have direct garden access. We also have two suites; these include a sitting room, bedroom and bathroom, again with spectacular views.
The friendly and caring environment is maintained 24 hours a day by our team of dedicated staff, who are led by our registered manager.
Training is an important feature of employment to ensure the adoption of professional and up to date care techniques to NVQ standards.
Our modern call bell system is fitted in all residents’ bedrooms and bathrooms and all of the public bathrooms and lounges. We have a passenger lift to all floors.
All rooms have TV points and the facility for a private telephone if required.
Newspapers, laundry, hairdressing and chiropody are available ‘in house’.
We welcome all enquiries and visits concerning residential care, whether for long term, respite, convalescence or intermediate care. Should you wish to visit we will be happy to show you around, meet our staff and residents and most importantly give you a copy of our menu. As well as recognising the importance of meal times we are happy to cater for individual tastes and for special diets.
